WPCC Partnerships

Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church has long been interested in bettering the lives of children. To that end, the church has established the West Philadelphia Alliance for Children, whose purpose is to build partnerships with organizations in West Philadelphia in order to transform lives and build a bright future for all children. The Fine Arts Program of BMPC, under the direction of Jeffrey Brillhart, was established in 1973 and includes ministries of music, art, and outreach. More than 300 children participate in weekly programs of choral music and music education.

The West Philadelphia Alliance for Children (WePAC) is a non-profit organization serving the communities of East Parkside, Mill Creek, and Carroll Park.  WePAC seeks to provide innovative, effective and transformative initiatives in challenged urban communities implemented through a portfolio of programs developed in concert with the West Philadelphia community.

James Rhoads Elementary is a neighborhood school in the Mill Creek community that currently serves 530 students from kindergarten through grade six.
